Coaches are a necessary element in the life of a successful athlete. Whether you are a professional, student, or weekend athlete, it’s the coach which gets you to realize your importance, your abilities and self-worth as an athlete. A good coach will press you to be your best, teach you about being a team player, and how to motivate yourself on a daily basis to be your best. In your thank you letter, mention any specific situations where they were of particular help. Did they encourage you when you were down? Perhaps they suggested a new strategy which ended up enhancing your playing style. Whatever they contributed to your skill set a a player, use this letter to show your gratitude.
Dear, Mr. Johnson
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication toward our team. Without you, we would not have made the championships, and for that we are eternally grateful. Your skill as a coach, is matched by your skill as a mentor to our team. Time and time again, faculty and parents have heard stories of how you’ve encouraged them not only in athletics, but also in areas such as scholastic aptitude and community issues.
Our goal has always been to foster an athletic program which caters to parent and team member alike, and you’ve successfully filled both roles with integrity and grace. You’ve successfully taken your experience of 25 years plus, in the athletic industry, and utilized it with such success, that we’ve finally won our very own championship trophy.
Thank you for your participation, your diligence and knowledge. We sincerely look forward to working with you in future seasons here at Haywood High. The faculty appreciates you, the kids respond to you and the parents trust you. We thank you and wish you a pleasant summer, and look forward to seeing you again in the fall.
