Lined Paper Template | 38+ Free in Word, PDF

In day to day life, there is a need to either take some notes, write a list of things or for students, undertake examinations and tests. For this reason, the Lined paper template comes in handy as it helps create an order of listing or writing things.

As technology advances and grows into almost every area of life, writing letters, assignments, and other tasks have taken on new formats. Instead of writing in cursive or printing your content, you simply hit the buttons and the information is typed onto a page for you.

Generally, those printed pages are without lines. But that doesn’t mean that lined paper is obsolete. You may still need it and technology can help you there as well. Instead of running to the office supply store, you can print out the lined paper using one of many different templates.

What is a Lined Paper Template?

Lined paper templates are blank papers with printed lines to make sure that you can write in a straight line.

Another word for lined paper is ruled paper, and those lines make the content easier to read and write. When using a template, you can add margins or leave them off. How you customize the template is up to you.

What is lined paper used for?

In the old days, before computers became so popular, the lined paper was used for writing assignments, stories, and even practicing your printing or cursive writing styles. You could use it for any task that involved writing or printing.

It was great for writing notes to pass in class when you needed to talk to your friend. Or you could write a poem, do a college assignment, create a short story or simply record your thoughts and what took place throughout the day.

The best purpose for using lined paper is to make sure you write in a legible manner and a straight line. Incoherent writing that goes all over the place is very difficult to read.

Is there a lined paper template in Word?

Yes, the best part about these templates is that you can customize them to look the way you need them to look. To get familiar with them, all you have to do is look at the different options available in that Microsoft Word.

One major difference between standard ruled paper and the lined paper you print out using Word is that the printers do not print to the very edge of the page. That means your lined paper will not look like the lined paper you buy in the store. There will be little white edges around your version where the printer did not color.
