Dear Sir,

I am truly sorry for failing to make it to the office on time. This is quite unprofessional of me. I have especially inconvenienced my team who were waiting for me to do a presentation before they go to their respective work station. Please accept my apology for this action.

I am well aware that punctuality is very important for better results at work and as the head of the team I should lead by example. I was coming to work and along the way an accident happened that blocked the road for 20 minutes, causing me to arrive to the office 30 minutes later.

I have learned from this and I have purposed to be leaving the house at least 30 minutes earlier than I normally do to make sure that this mistake does not happen again. I have talked to the team players and I have rescheduled the meeting to tomorrow morning to make sure that we cover what was supposed to be covered today.

I am sorry for letting the management and my colleagues down. I promise this will not happen again. Kindly accept my apology.

Yours sincerely,

Jane white

This is especially important if you were late to attend an important meeting or meet with a client. If this is the case, please explain yourself as plainly as possible, and offer your sincerest apology.

Dear Mr. O’Meara:

Please accept my apology for my late arrival this morning. Being tardy is not one of my issues. This has been the first time and I understand how it may have caused you to second guess my ability to handle responsibility. I am taking this opportunity to compose a handwritten apology letter to reinforce my regret that I arrived late.

My tardiness put you in an awkward position, I understand that. It not only made me look bad, but y9ou as well, as you’ve put your trust in me to be able to act responsibly and with professionalism. When an employee does not show up on time, it comes across as not caring about their position, not wishing to contribute to making their department shine. I am sincerely sorry for that, the pain and embarrassment that it caused you.

It is with a heavy heart that I accept my role in this. That I am totally responsible for my late arrival. I’d like to take this time to state that it will never happen again, and that I will move forward with any and all suggestions to make this situation right, so that I again can earn your trust.

I’ve contact human resources and requested all of their material regarding augmenting our time management skills. While I’ve never really been tardy before, I have always just scraped right by, arriving at the last moment. As such, I also signed up for an online time management seminar.

If there is anything that I can do to prove to you that I’ll never again be tardy, then please let me know. I’m open to making myself a better employee for the company, and I’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that this never happens again.

Yours Sincerely,
